FeaturesPhone Coaching

Live coaching on phone calls, on iPhone

Put any call on speaker. Koachly's iPhone app hears both sides and shows coaching tips on screen in real time — no bot, no recording service, no setup.

Pro and above. iOS only.

How it works

Four steps to live phone coaching

  1. 01

Install Koachly from the App Store

Sign in with your Koachly account. Open the Phone tab (bottom navigation) and grant microphone permission when prompted.

  2. 02

Dial and put the call on speaker

Use iPhone's Phone app to dial normally. Tap the Speaker button. This routes both sides of the call through the device speaker, which Koachly's mic can hear.

  3. 03

    Tap Start in Koachly

Koachly records in 3-second chunks, transcribes in real time, and shows coaching tips on screen. Up to 3 tips visible at once — newest on top.

  4. 04

Tap Stop when the call ends

Recording stops immediately. A Call score is generated and your session is saved to Conversations in the portal.

Why speakerphone

The iOS audio constraint, explained

Apple does not allow apps to read phone call audio directly — it is a privacy protection built into iOS. Speakerphone is the workaround: it plays both sides of the call through the device speaker, which Koachly’s mic can pick up. The other person hears only you, exactly as they would in a normal call.

FAQ

Questions about phone coaching

iOS does not allow apps to directly capture phone call audio — it's a privacy protection built into the operating system. Speakerphone routes both sides of the call through the device speaker, which Koachly's mic can pick up. This is the only way to hear both sides of a phone call on iPhone.

It works best in a quiet space. Background noise reduces transcription accuracy and can cause missed or delayed tips.

Any call you can put on speaker: regular iPhone calls, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom Phone, RingCentral — if you can put it on speaker, Koachly can hear it.

Koachly hears via your device mic only — the same way they'd hear background noise in your room. We recommend disclosing that you use a coaching tool, and you should follow call recording laws where you operate.

Yes. If a manager has set a team playbook active, phone coaching follows the same steps as a browser call.

Not yet. The current app is iOS only. Android support is on the roadmap.
