FeaturesDeal Risk Scoring

Know which deals are moving and which are stuck — before it shows in your forecast.

Koachly's deal risk score evaluates commitment level, next-step clarity, and stakeholder engagement on every call — so managers see risk early.

What Koachly scores on every call

Five signals. One deal risk score.

Koachly analyses the call transcript for the signals that predict whether a deal will progress. Each signal is weighted by how recently it appeared — last week's hesitation matters more than one from last month.

  • Commitment strength

How firmly the prospect stated intent to move forward. Language like 'we need to decide' vs. 'maybe next quarter' produces very different scores.

  • Next step agreed

Did the call end with a concrete next step, a named date, and a named person? A 'yes' here is one of the strongest predictors of a deal moving.

  • Stakeholder depth

Did the right people join? Were additional decision-makers mentioned or introduced? Deals stall when only one person is engaged.

  • Urgency signals

Words and phrases tied to timeline pressure — budget deadlines, project kick-offs, renewal windows — are weighted positively.

  • Unresolved objections

Price concerns, competitive mentions, and hesitations that were raised but never fully addressed stay on record and drag the score down.

The deal risk score explained

A 0–100 scale with three clear bands

Every call produces a number. The number tells you — and your manager — exactly where this deal stands without requiring a rep to colour-code a spreadsheet.

Deal risk score bands and what they mean
Score rangeStatusWhat it means
61 – 100StrongClear next steps, committed language, no open objections. This deal is moving. Keep cadence and watch for late-stage risk.
31 – 60ProgressingSome positive signals but gaps remain — a next step without a date, an objection not fully handled, or a missing stakeholder. Coach the rep on the specific gap.
0 – 30StalledNo firm commitment, vague next step, or a competitor mention that went unanswered. Flag this deal before the next pipeline review.

Manager view

See all deals ranked by risk before pipeline review

The team risk dashboard ranks every open deal by its latest score — lowest first. Before your weekly pipeline review, you already know which deals need a conversation and which can wait. Deals that drop below 30 are automatically flagged so nothing slips through unnoticed.

You can filter by rep, by stage, or by the date range of the last call. The dashboard does not require you to trust self-reported status — it is built from what was actually said on the call.

Rep view

Here is why your deal risk score was 42 — and what would move it

Reps do not just see a number. After every call, Koachly shows the three signals that pulled the score down the most — for example: "no next step agreed", "pricing concern not addressed", "only one stakeholder engaged" — and the specific action that would move each one.

This turns the deal risk score from a manager metric into a rep coaching tool. A rep who understands why their score is 42 knows exactly what to fix on the follow-up call.

What is included

Everything in Deal Risk Scoring

  • Per-call risk score

Every call produces a 0–100 deal risk score, visible the moment analysis finishes — usually within 60 seconds of the call ending.

  • Trend over last 5 calls

See whether a deal is improving or declining across multiple conversations. A rising score means momentum. A falling one is a flag.

  • Team risk dashboard

Managers see every open deal ranked by risk score before pipeline review. No spreadsheet, no manual RAG status update.

  • Forecast flag

Deals with a risk score below 30 are automatically flagged so managers can review them ahead of forecast calls. Pro and Business plans.

FAQ

Questions about deal risk scoring

The call score measures how well the rep performed — discovery, objection handling, talk ratio, closing language. The deal risk score measures the health of the deal itself: how committed the prospect is, whether a next step was agreed, whether the right stakeholders are engaged, and whether there are open objections. A rep can score 80 on technique and still have a deal risk of 28 if the prospect was vague about timing. The two scores complement each other.

Yes. Koachly can push the deal risk score and the underlying signals to a custom field in Salesforce or HubSpot after every call. Your CRM then always shows the latest score without manual entry. Integration is on the Business plan; the Automation & Webhooks feature also lets you route data to any CRM via Zapier or the REST API.

Koachly analyses the call transcript for commitment language, next-step clarity (a specific date and person named), stakeholder mentions, urgency phrases, and unresolved objections. It also weights signals by recency — a competitor mention on last week's call has more impact than one from a month ago — and factors in how the deal score has trended across the last three calls.

Yes. Every deal shows a risk score trend across the last five calls so you can see whether it is improving, declining, or stalled. A deal that scores 45, 47, 48 is different from one that scores 65, 55, 45 — even if the latest number looks similar. The trend chart is visible in both the manager dashboard and the rep's call history.
