The Koachly Close CRM integration means every call score, coaching summary, and next step gets logged to the right lead automatically after every call. Reps do nothing extra, and managers see coaching performance alongside pipeline data in Close without switching between tools. The integration is available on all Koachly plans, including free, and takes under five minutes to connect.
What syncs between Koachly and Close CRM
Koachly writes structured call data to Close automatically when a coached call ends. The sync creates a completed Call Activity on the associated Lead, with a summary that covers what was discussed, any objections raised, and the next step the rep confirmed during the call.
In addition to the call note, Koachly writes the following to Close custom fields:
- Call score — a composite score based on how the rep followed the playbook during the call
- Talk-to-listen ratio — the rep's share of speaking time expressed as a percentage
- Call duration — total time on the call
- Key topic flags — whether pricing, objections, a competitor, or a next step came up during the call
These fields are available in Close's search and filtering tools, so you can slice your pipeline by coaching performance without pulling a separate report. The full list of available fields is on the Close integration page.
How to connect Koachly to Close CRM
The connection uses Close's API key. You need a Close account with admin access and a Koachly account on any plan.
- Generate a Close API key. In Close, go to Settings → Developer API and create a new API key. Give it a descriptive name like "Koachly integration" and copy the key.
- Open Koachly integrations settings. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Close CRM and paste the API key into the connection field. Click Connect.
- Configure field mappings. Koachly provides default mappings for common Close setups. If your Close account uses custom fields for coaching data, map Koachly's outputs to those fields here.
- Set contact matching rules. Koachly matches calls to Close Leads by email address or phone number. Configure what happens when no match is found: create a new Lead, or queue the call for manual review.
- Test the connection. Make a short call through Koachly. Within a minute or two of hanging up, a Call Activity should appear on the associated Lead in Close.
Once connected, logging happens automatically for every future coached call. No rep action is needed during or after the call.
Pre-call context from Close
Before each call, Koachly reads the associated Close Lead record: current status, last activity date, any open tasks, and deal value if an opportunity is attached. This context feeds the live coaching engine so tips during the call are relevant to where the lead actually sits in your process.
A rep calling a cold outbound lead gets different prompts from one following up on a warm inbound trial. The pre-call pull from Close is what makes that distinction automatic rather than requiring the rep to select a call type or answer setup questions before joining.
Using coaching data in Close reports
Close's reporting and Smart View filters work well with Koachly's custom fields. A useful starting point: create a Smart View that surfaces all leads where the coaching score on the last call fell below your team's threshold. That view becomes a coaching queue, making it easier for managers to identify which leads need a second look and which reps need support on specific skills.
Talk-to-listen ratio is another field worth filtering on. Leads where the rep has been speaking more than 60 percent of the time across multiple calls consistently convert at a lower rate. Surfacing those leads in a Smart View means the pattern is visible in Close rather than buried in a separate analytics tool.
For teams that use Close's built-in sequence and task automation, Koachly's call data can trigger downstream actions. A low coaching score can automatically add a follow-up task for a manager, or a call where a specific objection was flagged can trigger a step in the rep's nurture sequence. The exact actions available depend on the automations your team has configured in Close.
Common questions about the Close integration
Does Koachly create a new Call Activity or update an existing one?
Koachly creates a new completed Call Activity each time a coached call ends. If you also log calls through Close's dialer, those activities remain separate and are not duplicated.
What happens if the call can't be matched to a Lead in Close?
Koachly queues the call and flags it for review in Settings. You can then manually associate it with an existing Lead or create a new one. This behaviour is configurable — you can also set Koachly to create a new Lead automatically when no match is found.
Does the integration work with Close's built-in dialer?
The Koachly Close integration works alongside Close's dialer. Koachly coaches calls running in the browser through tab audio, and logs to Close independently of whether the call was made through Close's dialer or another calling tool. See the call scoring features page for more on how scoring works across different call types.
Koachly's Close CRM integration is available on all plans, including free. Setup takes under five minutes, and every coached call is logged to the right Lead automatically after that. Start free and connect your Close account today.
