How do I start phone coaching?
- Install the Koachly app from the App Store and sign in.
- Open the Phone tab at the bottom of the app.
- Start your phone call and put it on speaker (the speakerphone button in your Phone app).
- Tap Start in the Koachly Phone tab. Allow microphone access if prompted.
- Tips appear on screen as you talk. Tap Stop when the call ends.
TipA quiet room gives the best results. Background noise makes transcription harder, which can reduce tip accuracy.
Why do I need speakerphone?
iOS does not allow third-party apps to access phone call audio. Speakerphone is the workaround: when your call is on speaker, the phone's microphone picks up both your voice and the other person. Koachly reads that microphone stream.
If the other person's voice is quiet through the speaker, hold the phone closer to your mouth or increase the call volume.
What tips does phone coaching give?
Phone coaching uses the same AI coaching engine as the browser extension. It recognises objections, competitor mentions, buying signals and long silences. Tips are one line long and appear privately on your screen.
If your team has an active playbook, phone coaching also coaches you against the playbook steps.
What languages does phone coaching support?
Phone coaching works in English, German, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese. The app switches to your device language automatically if one of these is set.
Questions people ask
Does phone coaching work with VoIP calls (WhatsApp, Skype, etc.)?
Yes. Any call that plays through the iPhone speaker works. WhatsApp calls, FaceTime calls, and calls on other apps all work as long as speaker mode is on.
Does the other person know I'm using Koachly?
Koachly never joins the call as a participant and never records a file. The other person cannot tell from Koachly that anything is listening. You are still responsible for following any local consent rules that apply to your calls.
What plan do I need?
Phone coaching uses the same live coaching hours as the browser extension. It is available on all paid plans.
Does phone coaching work on Android?
Live phone coaching is on the roadmap for Android. The current Android app has Call prep, Call score and practice.
