How do I start live tips during a call?
- Open your call in a browser tab: Zoom on the web, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams on the web.
- In another tab, open Koachly and go to Live coaching. Press Start.
- Allow the microphone when Chrome or Edge asks. Your mic is you.
- In the share window, pick the meeting tab and tick Share tab audio. The tab's sound is the buyer.
- Talk as usual. Tips show up when the buyer raises a concern, asks a question or goes quiet. A live transcript shows who said what.
- Press End when the call is over. Your Call score and 3 fixes are ready a moment later.
TipKeep the coaching bar on top of your meeting window, or put Koachly on a second screen, so you can read a tip without looking away from the buyer for long.
What do live tips during a call look like?
You choose the style in Settings → Live coaching, and you can switch on the call with the Words / Nudges toggle in the expanded bar. Koachly remembers your choice.
| Style | What you see | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Words to say (default) | One natural line you can say out loud as written, with a short reason under it | Most calls, newer reps, hard pushback |
| Short nudges | A 2 to 4 word cue, like "Ask about timeline" | Experienced reps who want less to read |
| What should I say? | Full words for the moment you are in, in either style | When you are stuck. Press the button or Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Space, or type a question |
Example"That makes sense. Can I ask what the price is being compared to?" (Reason: find the real concern.)
On Business, a manager can set a team default style. Each rep can still change their own.
Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams desktop apps?
| Call setup | Works today? | How |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom, Meet or Teams in Chrome or Edge | Yes | Share the meeting tab with "Share tab audio" ticked |
| Zoom or Teams desktop app on Windows | Yes | Share your screen and tick "Share system audio" |
| Zoom or Teams desktop app on a Mac | Not yet | Join the call in the browser instead, or wait for the desktop app |
| Firefox or Safari | No | These browsers can't share tab audio. Use Chrome or Edge |
| Phone calls | Coming soon | The Android app will give live tips when your call is on speaker, or on a desk phone or laptop next to your phone |
The desktop app for Windows and Mac, with a floating coaching bar, is coming soon. Setup guides for each tool: Zoom sales coaching, Google Meet sales coaching and Microsoft Teams sales coaching.
How does Koachly know who is speaking?
Your microphone is you. The shared meeting audio is the buyer. Because the two come in on separate channels, Koachly can tell who said what even when you wear headphones. If a name looks wrong on the call page, you can rename the speaker there.
Using Koachly on calls: consent
Koachly listens to your call so it can give you tips. Laws about recording and transcribing calls differ by place, and you are the one who must follow them. In plain words, there are two kinds of rules:
| Kind of rule | What it means | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| One-party consent | One person on the call (you) can agree for the call to be recorded or transcribed | Most US states, and Canada |
| All-party consent | Everyone on the call must agree first | California, Florida, Washington, Pennsylvania, Illinois and some other US states, and much of Europe (for example Germany) |
The simple, safe habit: tell everyone at the start of every call that you use a coaching tool, and ask if that's OK. If someone says no, stop Live coaching for that call. When people on the call are in different places, follow the strictest rule.
ExampleQuick note before we start: I use an AI coaching tool that listens to this call and gives me notes. Is that OK with you?
You can also paste the same line into the meeting chat. Your company may have its own rules, so check with them too.
Not legal adviceThis is general information, not legal advice. If you're not sure what applies to you, ask a lawyer where you work.

Questions people ask
Can the buyer see the tips?
No. The tips are only on your screen. No bot joins your call. Koachly listens on your side, and you tell the other person you use a coaching tool.
What language are the tips in?
Live tips follow the language spoken on the call, in 29 languages. English, Spanish, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese are fully tested.
What happens if I run out of live hours mid-month?
Live coaching pauses until your hours reset on the 1st, unless you buy extra hours. Uploads, scores and call reviews keep working.
Do I need to tell the buyer I use Koachly?
Yes, tell them. It's the simple, safe habit, and in some places (like California and much of Europe) everyone on the call must agree first. Say something like: "I use an AI coaching tool that listens to this call and gives me notes. Is that OK with you?" This is general information, not legal advice.
